Over the course of our 30+ years in business, we have tested a variety of pole materials for strength and durability. The combination we found to be the safest and strongest is a PVC reinforced Marine Grade 6061 T6 aluminum pole secured to a ½” diameter chambered stainless steel rod.
The added stainless steel rod makes this pole virtually unbreakable at the fulcrum point and allows us to drill smaller holes in your deck: dime-size compared to half-dollars like most of our competitors and our Original Pole.

When our Premier Mesh Pool Fence is coupled with our Patented Locking Deck Sleeves, it becomes so safe that it meets the strict building codes of Los Angeles County and Los Angeles City.
Our Locking Deck Sleeves permanently secures your fence poles into the ground and requires the use of tools for both installation and removal. For added safety, removal can only occur while inside the perimeter of the fence.
The convenience of removable mesh fencing is normally a valuable feature to our every-day customers, but when needing fencing to satisfy state agency regulations for places like foster homes and day-cares, having a permanent mesh fence is attractive for its gentleness with children.

Why We No Longer Use Fiberglass In Our Safety Fence Poles?
Some of our competitors boast about their bend and dent-resistant fiberglass poles but there is a reason Guardian stopped using fiberglass in our pole construction.
Logically fiberglass seemed like a good choice for pole strength and durability, which is why it was used as a reinforcing component in our first upgraded pole. It passed all of our strength tests and, in a controlled environment, appeared to be a great option. After seeing it perform in the field, however, we came across a potentially hazardous problem in the case that a pole did break.
Broken fiberglass can cause irritation of the eyes, skin, or respiratory tract and, here in California (as of 1991), must be labeled as potential cancer-causing material. When a pole reinforced with fiberglass broke, an installer was required to wear long sleeves, pants, gloves, and eye protection during the removal process. They would then have to clean the affected area with soap and water to make sure all of the fibers were collected, as to not expose our customers to any potential issues. These potential risks to the families and employees we aim to protect were not worth the extra bit of durability offered by these fiberglass-reinforced poles.
We began brainstorming a safer option. Learning from past trials, we knew to reinforce the entire aluminum pole with the only PVC that wasn’t going to give us the strength we desired. During testing, the poles reinforced with PVC would break at the fulcrum (where the pole and ground meet) at lower pounds of pressure than with the fiberglass and we would not settle until we found an alternative at least as strong as our first upgraded pole. Then it occurred to us… stainless steel!
To keep the pole lightweight and durable, we chose to reinforce the bottom portion of our pole with a stainless steel rod, strengthening the fulcrum. This is, after all, the most common area for a pole to break. During testing, we were amazed to find out just how strong this combination of materials is. It is far superior in strength, durability, and safety than fiberglass.

The Superior Removable Mesh Pool Gate
All Guardian Pool Gates Are Climb-Resistant, Self-Closing, Self-Latching, and Key-Lockable
Every Guardian Pool Fence System comes with the option to install our patented climb-resistant, self-closing, self-latching, key-lockable mesh gate. We use the best materials and hardware on the market to bring you the highest quality pool gate in the industry.
Climb-Resistant: Guardian has engineered the only gate with NO CROSSBAR. Not having a crossbar significantly decreases the likelihood of your child climbing over our gate because there is no place for them to gain leverage from. Instead of a crossbar, we designed our gate with trusses on each side to control gate tension. Our gate trusses are made from 6061 marine grade aluminum and can be powder coated in the same colors as our pool fence.
Self-Closing: Tru-Close hinges have long been the most reliable self-closing gate hinges on the market which is why we use them with every Guardian Gate. These hinges are tough, molded with a stainless steel torsion spring, and coated with UV-Stabilized materials to provide you with hinges that won’t bind, sag, or stain. They are also easy to adjust, requiring only a screwdriver, and come with a 100% Rust-Free For Life guarantee.
Self-Latching: MagnaLatch Safety Gate Latches were specifically designed for securing gates around swimming pools, yards, and child care centers. Combined with the self-closing Tru-Close hinges, they meet child safety codes because the latches will magnetically latch itself shut. This latch is also key-lockable and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. MagnaLatch is the original and is still the world’s best selling magnetic latches on the market.

Poles
Our Premier Fence Poles are constructed using Marine Grade 6061 T6 aluminum poles, reinforced with PVC, and secured to a ½” diameter chambered stainless steel rod at its base that supports the fulcrum.
Pole Spacing
Our standard pole spacing is distanced at 36″. Custom lengths are available. Pricing will vary.
Screws & Bolts
All Guardian screws and eye bolts are made from 304 stainless steel. We will coat both with a Teflon-like finish to match the color of your selected poles unless desired otherwise. Unlike paint, our finish will not peel.
Sleeves
Our sleeves are made from a non-conductive high-density polyethylene (HDPE).
Heights
4 foot, 4 ½ foot or 5-foot heights. Custom heights are available. Pricing will vary. *The minimum height recommended by the U.S.C.P.S.C. is 4 feet.

Hooks And Eyes
All Guardian Pool Fence Systems hooks and eyes are made from 304 stainless steel. BLACK TEFLON coated stainless steel hooks & eyes are used with dark-colored poles and stainless steel finished hooks and eyes are used for light-colored poles. We coat the hooks and eyes strictly for aesthetic reasons. Our Teflon color coat will not peel.
Padlocks
Our padlocks are made of solid brass with a solid brass shackle. To prevent unauthorized removal of the fence, padlocks can be used to lock adjoining fence panels, requiring a key for fence removal. The average pool fence needs between 10 and 15 padlocks.
